LCWA Meeting Minutes

August 12, 2018

President, Ed Hetzel called the meeting to order at 11:06 a.m.

The July minutes were read and accepted with corrections to the Treasurer’s Report.

Treasurer’s Report:

There are 90 paid members to date. This is 22 less than 2017. Of the 90 members, 20 are new.

Checking: $22,394.44

Dam Checking: $1,569.48

Savings: 22,669.39

Total: $46,633.31

Lake Carey Day:

Ed reported that Lake Carey Day (LCD) made a profit of $3, 418.64. This is the second largest profit made by this event. Proceeds are to be donated to the Dam Fund at the end of the year. Ed, Deb Tierney and David Rinehimer thanked everyone who helped make this important event possible.

Ed reported that the questionnaires sent to residents should be returned. The Sewer Authority is still working on purchasing the land for the plant. In response to a question, Ed explained that the cost of electricity to operate the grinder pump will be the responsibility of the resident.

The Emergency Action Plan was updated and sent to the State for approval.

We received preliminary approval for the new dam.

The Dam Fund is very low. Significant fundraising will be needed to meet the $100,000 cost of construction. Dr. Givler’s bill of $3,200 was approved for payment.

Information was received from a lake that uses enzyme tablets to dissolve leaves and other organic materials from the bottom of lake. Ed will investigate this further.

The next meeting will be held on Sunday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
