Reports

Lake Carey Day Chris thanked all those who have helped in the past and all those who helped this year to make Lake Carey Day successful.

Water Quality

Ed Hetzel reported he has done two water tests. The first from the flow pond was a bacteria level of 160 anything under 200 is considered good. The sample from the big lake was very high due (over 600) to Ed disturbing the sediment on the bottom of the lake.

The second set of tests were: lake shore 20 and middle less than 10 and the flow pond 160 at the shore and 20 in the middle.

The clarity of the lake was also tested at 2.2 meters in July. This is higher than in the early 90s.

For the repairs to the dam, Ed has contacted the person who needs to do the survey, A question was asked as to who owns the dam. The Association does. There was discussion about the amount of bacteria in the mud at the bottom of the lake, it is a generic E coli type. A question was asked if we had statistics to compare our water quality to other lakes and we do not. Testing is only done in the summer due to the cost. There is no salmonella bacteria in the lake. It was suggested that a test be done on a Friday and again on a Monday to see the difference from the weekend traffic.
