The Lake Carey Welfare Association

Welcome to Lake Carey PA

Located in Northeastern PA, Lake Carey is one of the largest natural glacial lakes in Pennsylvania.  Lake Carey lies amid the Endless Mountains approximately 1,000 feet above the Susquehanna River.

In the early days, Lake Carey was known as the place to go for summer getaways.  Over the years, this has not changed.

Our lake community is flourishing in the summer with both year round residents and seasonal residents.  Seasonal residents usually begin to arrive around the beginning of June and remain till Labor Day.

After Labor Day, many of the cottages are closed up and the seasonal folks begin to head home...where ever that might be.  Wintertime at the lake is very quiet and peaceful. Once the snow begins to fall and the lake begins to freeze, a whole new world comes alive.  It is truly a scene from a Thomas Kinkade painting.
