The Lake Carey Dam Association (LCDA), a 501(c)(3), oversees the engineering of the new dam and fundraising efforts for the cost of building the new dam. Government regulations in Pennsylvania around dam construction have changed since the current dam was built in 1984,
so we must stay in compliance with these new requirements.
LCDA has hired Givler Engineering (givlerengineering.com) to design the new dam according to current DEP specifications. The plans were submitted to the PA DEP (Department of Environmental Protection), the government agency which oversees these projects. We are awaiting their response. Once the plan is approved, the LCDA will begin the process of bidding the job to contractors.
Tax deductible donations can be made to the dam reconstruction project. Make checks payable to the Lake Carey Dam Association and mail them to PO Box 637, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 or pay by credit card by clicking on the button to the right.
